This is an exciting opportunity where you join a growing team within R&D and focus on solving complex problems through a user focussed outlook. Working across multiple product categories you will develop highly inventive, insight-led solutions that truly resonate with end users.
What you will be doing:
- Developing products that form the future direction of the company.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation through collaboration with colleagues across the business.
- Managing multiple projects from research through to commercially viable concept designs.
- Challenging the ordinary to create new and innovative designs.
- Using the latest in 3D printing technology to test and evaluate your designs.

What we need from you:
- An undergraduate (and / or masters) degree in Industrial Design or Product Design with a minimum of five years industry experience.
- Strong industrial design skills with a proven track record of success.
- A natural flair to clearly communicate ideas with conviction.
- A portfolio showing an inventive nature and evidence of turning ideas from a sketch into commercially available product.
- Effective communication of ideas and the ability to present ideas to departments across the organisation.
- An ability to lead and inspire others, supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues in the department.
- An ability to effectively manage time whilst working to tight critical paths on multiple projects.
- A comprehensive understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Excellent knowledge of design applications including Solidworks and Solid Works Vizualize and Adobe CS.
- A creative thought process with a self-motivated drive to create excellent ideas.
- An adaptable, reliable character with the ability to easily engage with others.
- The ability to challenge conventional thinking, whilst working withing constraints and keeping ideas commercially viable.

Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong .NET / C# skills
- Experience with V-Cycle and Agile Development methodologies
- Experience with version control software
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong debugging skills
- Good communication and teamworking skills
Advantage to have:
- Experience working with WPF, XAML and the MVVM pattern
- Experience with Xamarin forms and/or .Net MAUI

Key Responsibilities will include:
- Development of Embedded Industrial communication interface modules; concentrating on software development, test, and certification
- Help define hardware and firmware architecture
- Maintain products through various stages of their lifecycle
- Develop a strong understanding of the systems we use and learn new technologies to help advance our applications
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in relevant Software or Electronics discipline
- Strong Embedded C Programming skills (MISRA, Secure coding practices etc)
- Experience with V-Cycle and Agile Development methodologies
- Experience with version control software
- Good communication and teamworking skills
Advantage to have:
- Familiarity with C# programming for development of support and test tools
- Familiarity with Serial communication protocols (Modbus RTU), USB and Bluetooth
- Familiarity with Industrial Communication Protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT etc)

- Drive type testing to validate new designs

- Ideally qualified BTEC (or higher), undergoing qualification in Electronic Engineering or the prerequisites to do so
