Problem
ROLOFOL a.s., a leading Czech producer of stretch films, operates extrusion machines that run continuously to meet demand in the packaging industry. One of its extruders, dating from 2005, had begun to experience reliability issues, with its existing Profibus-based drives becoming increasingly difficult to maintain.
Solution
Invertek Drives supplied two Optidrive P2 variable frequency drives (VFDs) to renovate the extruder systems.
The drives were selected for their high-performance torque control, ability to integrate into existing systems, and reliability in 24/7 continuous operation.
The Challenge
ROLOFOL a.s., a leading Czech producer of stretch films, operates extrusion machines that run continuously to meet demand in the packaging industry. One of its extruders, dating from 2005, had begun to experience reliability issues, with its existing Profibus-based drives becoming increasingly difficult to maintain.
For ROLOFOL’s maintenance team, sourcing spare parts and managing repairs was time-consuming and costly. Any downtime risked disruption to production, creating a need for a robust and modern solution to keep extrusion.
The Solution
Invertek Drives supplied two Optidrive P2 variable frequency drives (VFDs) to renovate the extruder systems - 2 × 110kW P2 drives for the extruder screws
The drives were selected for their high-performance torque control, ability to integrate into existing systems, and reliability in 24/7 continuous operation. The TFT display provided operators with clear visibility and control during production runs.
