Invertek Drives will be launching a free mobile ‘application’ version of its popular Energy Savings Calculator at the SPS trade show later this month.
The app has been designed to provide specifiers, consultants and engineers with an estimate of the potential energy, CO2 and financial savings that can be achieved in industrial and HVAC applications when an Optidrive variable speed drive is used to control the speed of a centrifugal fan or pump.
Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, says, “Our online energy savings calculator is extremely popular with both our international sales partners and our customers – launching an app version takes the technology one step further by enabling users to find out how much energy and money they could save irrespective of where they are in the World and whether they have an internet connection.”
Controlling an electric motor with an Optidrive variable speed drive can reduce energy consumption by more than 50% in industrial and HVAC applications by exactly matching the speed of the motor with the requirement of the installation.
The Energy Savings Calculator brings these potential savings to life by providing a clear indication of exactly how much users could save, as Rid explains, “The app can be used on any smart device which runs apps – this makes it easy for our customers to see the potential savings which can be achieved and will help our international sales partners to show the benefits of Optidrive in applications around the World.”
The Energy Savings Calculator app has been designed as part of Invertek’s strategy to make its products and services as easy to use as possible. Invertek Drives was originally established when its founders spotted a niche in the market for a range of compact, easy to use VSDs. This ‘easy to use’ ethos permeates throughout every aspect of the business – from product development and the production process, to communications and training.
As well as new installations, Invertek’s Optidrives are also being used in a number of global retrofit projects designed to save energy and reduce spend on power. CarillionEnterprise is currently working with Invertek and its UK installation partner, Motor Control Warehouse, on the MoD’s ‘Spend to Save’ programme, whilst Optidrive P2s have been installed to control the pumping rate on beam pumps in the Qinghai oil field energy saving retrofit project in China.
The Energy Savings Calculator app is compatible with both apple and android devices and can be downloaded from iTunes or Google play.
