Invertek presents benefits of VSDs in HVAC & industrial applications.

Invertek Drives' Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson and Product Manager, Justin Peters, attended the Thailand Energy Saving Conference today with the company's Thai sales partner, Xcel Drives.

Conference delegates listened to Rhydian and Justin describe the global demand for energy saving in virtually all applications using electric motors, driven in most countries by increasingly stringent legislation. The presentations covered the energy efficiency benefits of Optidrive variable speed drives (VSDs) including examples of installations where the use of Invertek's VSDs has resulted in considerable energy savings in HVAC and industrial applications.

AC inverters from Invertek can help to reduce energy consumption in a wide variety of industrial applications, a major source of greenhouse gasses. Governments around the world have introduced energy saving targets and are putting legislation and regulations in place to ensure they are met.

Optidrive HVACs for fan and pump control can reduce energy consumption by more than 50% - leading to significant cost, as well as energy, savings. The Optidrive HVAC uses an advanced optimisation function that intelligently matches energy usage to the fan or pump load to ensure maximum operating efficiency.

Invertek has included an energy savings calculator on its website enabling customers to estimate the potential energy, CO2 and financial savings when an Optidrive is used to control the speed, and therefore the output flow, of a centrifugal fan or pump. Optidrive AC drives can also monitor energy usage with an inbuilt meter that allows energy consumption to be clearly displayed and savings to be calculated.
