CAD Technician Full-time

Based at our Welshpool Head Office, Invertek Drives are seeking to appoint an CAD Technician reporting to the CAD Manager in our small E-CAD/M-CAD design team, your role will include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for generating and maintaining a full and comprehensive product library of 3D product assemblies and simplified space models suitable for virtual environments
  • Supporting CAD Design Engineers producing detailed 2D drawings using geometric tolerancing and drawing standards within a PDM system
  • Performing first article inspections of new component parts and assemblies
  • Liaising with Sales, Technical Support and Service Departments
  • Working closely with our Quality Department
  • Prepare and print rapid prototyping files
  • Construct concepts and prototype models

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A suitable Engineering qualification with a basic understanding of AC Drives
  • Experience producing detailed engineering drawings
  • Proficient using SolidWorks drawings and assemblies is essential
  • Proficient in use of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or equivalent
  • Good IT skills: Excel and word are essential
  • Good organisation skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience with EPLAN beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to work to deadlines as part of a small fast moving team or working alone within the team

Embedded C Development Engineer Full-time

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Development of embeddediIndustrial communication interface modules and microcontroller-based hardware design and development with a focus on fieldbus communications
  • Help define hardware and firmware architecture
  • Maintain products through various stages of their lifecycle
  • Develop a strong understanding of the systems we use and learn new technologies to help advance our applications

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in relevant software or electronics discipline
  • Strong Embedded C Programming skills (MISRA, Secure coding practices etc)
  • Experience with V-Cycle and Agile Development methodologies
  • Experience with version control software (SVN preferred)
  • Good communication and teamworking skills

Essential to have

  • Familiarity with C# programming for development of support and test tools
  • Familiarity with Serial communication protocols (Modbus RTU), USB and Bluetooth
  • Familiarity with Industrial Communication Protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT etc)
  • Familiarity with PLC programming (CoDeSys, Rockwell, Siemens)

Assembly Production Operative

Skills required as follows:

  • Good manual dexterity to undertake intricate soldering and/or product assembly functions
  • To perform work with consistently high levels of quality
  • Ability to following written and picture based build manuals

Logistics Co-ordinator

The Logistics Co-ordinator is responsible for arranging collection and onward shipping of completed orders, enabling the export of Invertek products and drives to customers throughout the world:

Key requirements will include:

Liaising with all internal departments regarding production updates, shipment status’, orders raised and customer queries. Preparation of all order documentation such as POs, proforma invoices, customer orders and packing lists. Exporting experience, arranging collection and delivery of shipments to onward shipping agents, via external courier companies, to meet airline and/or vessel schedules. Liaising with Customer Services to provide tracking and delivery information in support of customer enquiries. Keeping the senior team up to date with any supply chain issues and taking steps to resolve these.

Key skills for the role:

  • Previous experience working with shipping agents and courier firms preferred, and an understanding of logistics and supply chain processes. A proactive and continuous-improvement focused individual, able to adapt and work under own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills - building strong relationships with key contacts both internal (customer services; account managers; despatch and production managers) and external (courier/shipping company representatives; customers).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent reporting ability both written & verbal; strong analytical & problem-solving skills; able to work fast but work smart.
  • Warehouse experience and IT skills – handling and loading of customer order pallets using MHE/ FLT; assisting despatch team where required. Proficient in MS Office and Excel;

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A service-focused approach with strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Individual drive & determination, being highly motivated to meet schedules & achieve targets
  • Previous experience using an inventory management system such as ‘Sage’.

Hours of Work: 8.30am to 5.00pm

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Product Management and will play a key role in helping to grow the product portfolio to support the company’s ambitious expansion plans.

Working as part of the Sales & Marketing team the role will involve:

  • Managing the technical and commercial aspects of a product range or ranges
  • Producing product specification documentation, and working with customers to agree the content
  • Managing the project through to final production, ensuring that the final product matches the intended spec
  • Presenting to both commercial and technically biased audiences the features and benefits

Skills and experience:

  • A suitable Engineering qualification
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the Variable Speed Drives Industry
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Capable of working as part of a fast moving team, and working to deadlines either as part of the team or alone
