Based at our Welshpool Head Office, Invertek Drives are seeking to appoint an CAD Technician reporting to the CAD Manager in our small E-CAD/M-CAD design team, your role will include, but not limited to: -

  • Generating and maintaining a product library of 3D CAD assemblies.
  • Producing simplified CAD models suitable for virtual environments.
  • Supporting CAD Design Engineers producing detailed 2D drawings using geometric tolerancing.
  • Performing first article inspections of new component parts and assemblies
  • Working closely with our Quality Department
  • Prepare and print rapid prototyping files
  • Construct concepts and prototype models

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A suitable Engineering qualification.
  • Experience producing detailed 2D engineering drawings.
  • Experience using SolidWorks drawings and assemblies is essential.
  • Good IT skills: Excel and word are essential.
  • Good organisation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines as part of a small team or alone.

Embedded C Development Engineer Full-time

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Development of embeddediIndustrial communication interface modules and microcontroller-based hardware design and development with a focus on fieldbus communications
  • Help define hardware and firmware architecture
  • Maintain products through various stages of their lifecycle
  • Develop a strong understanding of the systems we use and learn new technologies to help advance our applications

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in relevant software or electronics discipline
  • Strong Embedded C Programming skills (MISRA, Secure coding practices etc)
  • Experience with V-Cycle and Agile Development methodologies
  • Experience with version control software (SVN preferred)
  • Good communication and teamworking skills

Essential to have

  • Familiarity with C# programming for development of support and test tools
  • Familiarity with Serial communication protocols (Modbus RTU), USB and Bluetooth
  • Familiarity with Industrial Communication Protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT etc)
  • Familiarity with PLC programming (CoDeSys, Rockwell, Siemens)

  • A background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with experience and knowledge of AC Drives.
  • Ideally qualified BTEC (or higher), undergoing qualification in Electronic Engineering or the prerequisites to do so.
  • Good IT skills: Excel and word are essential.
  • Good organisation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Ability to following written and picture based build manuals

Service TechnicianFull-time

  • Repair of AC drives to component level and retest to ensure full functionality.
  • Liaising with customers via telephone and email to resolve service related issues.
  • Analysis of completed Service Request Forms.
  • Repair data entry.
  • When required, visit customer sites around the world to resolve service related issues.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ideally qualified to a minimum of HNC in electronics or equivalent.
  • Previous electronic repair experience.
  • Strong IT skills particularly Excel and Sage are essential.
  • Excellent and confident communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good organisation skills with high attention to detail.
